Where have all the artist-run spaces gone??? This panel will take a look at some Brisbane’s past artist-run initiatives (Soapbox), present artist run spaces and projects (Local Art), and will introduce a future new media space that will be opening at Metro Arts, The Projection Room. Looking at how to set up and run an independent space, types of funding available for these initiatives, and the role of artists as curators / directors, this session is a must-see for anyone with an interest in artist-run spaces … or plans to start one themselves!
