What are the implications of the recent popularity of mainstream feature documentary films? How has their popularity affected Australian documentary filmmakers and distributors? What does it say about current audiences and their attitudes toward conventional Hollywood cinema? Is this just a cross-over trend that will go the way of the ‘cosmopolitan international co-production’ and the ‘quality independent’?
